Hello and welcome to Foxes Pre-School, our wonderful pre-school class at Harrowby C of E Primary School

Every day at Foxes Pre-School we encourage children to be curious and imaginative in our wonderful learning environments. In doing so, they soon develop a real love of learning. Our experienced team come with a wealth of early years learning insight. We know that every child is different with their own story to tell, so we make sure that your child learns in a way and at a pace that’s right for them.

OUR PRE-SCHOOL SESSIONS

Morning Session: 9am- 12.30pm

Afternoon Session: 12pm-3.30pm

All Day Session: 9am-3.30pm

We offer both 15 hour and 30 hour funded places. Families can pay to extend their 15 hours codes to the full 30 hours per week which we have on offer. 

A smooth transition into our Pre-School is very important. This is why we offer FREE taster sessions to all our children. We also provide a helpful ‘Welcome Pack’ so that you have all the information you need to help make your child’s pre-school journey as smooth as possible. 

We are a Pre-School who love to read and recognise the power of books! From April 2025, every child joining our Pre-School will receive a beautiful storybook to help grow their love of reading.

OUR PRE-SCHOOL DAY

A typical morning session

9am: Arrive and welcome – your child will be provided with a mini-  bagel as part of our Healthy Breakfast Scheme.

9.15-10.30am: Explore the indoor and outdoor provision

10.30am: Cafe Time – children will be provided with a FREE piece of fruit and milk*. Some children might choose to bring a healthy snack from home. 

10.45-11.30am: Further time in provision, exploring new themes each week to support your child’s developing knowledge of the world around them. 

11.30-12.30pm: Dedicated ‘discovery’ time with our Early Years teacher. This session varies across the week and includes music and singing, early number and sound recognition, gross motor skill development and much more!

12.30pm: Collection by grown-up

*We always check for allergies and will provide alternatives where possible. 

 

A typical afternoon session

12-12.20pm: Story and song time.

12.20-1pm: Lunchtime – your child is welcome to bring a packed lunch to pre-school or the can access a yummy hot meal via Farm Kitchen, our meal provider.

1-1.30pm: Lunchtime play 

1.30-2.45pm: Extended time in our indoor and outdoor learning environments. 

2.45pm: Story 

3.30pm: Home time
